The Individual & The Collective: A Local Gathering
We are living through a profound cultural and civilisational shift—an era where old maps are beginning to fail, and global systems feel increasingly fragile and volatile. It is easy to feel isolated by these shifts, or to find oneself caught between daily news-cycle anxiety and surface-level small talk.
The Individual & The Collective is a planned informal discussion group meeting regularly - like a book club - with the purpose of bridging the gap between outer world affairs and our inner psychological landscapes.
Together, as a small circle of around 8–10 people we will explore topics centred on personal resilience, depth psychology, systemic change, and what it means to maintain individual sovereignty and integrity today.
(Current thoughts…)
The Catalyst Model: We do not read massive, dense textbooks. Instead, we use a "catalyst" framework. Each meet up we review one specific essay, short chapter, or podcast episode as our shared launchpad for conversation.
Depth Over Debate: This is explicitly not a political debate club, nor is it a therapy group. It is an informal collaborative space to digest the realities of our time without trying to "fix" each other or the world.
The Container: Meetings are held locally in my home outside Milnathort.
